Zidell Yards

Envisioning the future of a historic shipyard in Portland

With:

My roles:

information gathering / sorting, history delving, concept development, graphic design, pre-press production

The Zidell family has been building barges on Portland's waterfront since the early 1900s. They had one of those classic, awe-inspiring, something-from-nothing stories that needed to be told (and a huge documented catalogue of gorgeous vintage photos to boot).

We created a large format newsprint booklet to share the story of their family and its place in Portland's history, including a map of what the future might look like as the South Waterfront becomes Portland's next neighborhood. We also created some of the raddest business cards ever (I'm seriously proud of these hole-y little pieces of art) and some lovely enamel cups for their office (now a part of my camping essentials box).
